“ What a find! It was a beautiful Fall day and we were looking for a nice place to have lunch. This place exceeded our expectations tremendously. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, I was more than impressed. The decor and seating make for a very comfortable setting and our waitress was top notch. She has been there for over 15 years and I can see why. When you've found Paradise, why would you leave? From the butternut squash soup to the jagerschnitzal to the apple strudel, every moment was savored and I didn't want it to end. The cherry brandy was delicious as well. It had just a hint of sweetness and was very balanced as was everything we tried. I can't wait to return to this place again. Thank you for a wonderful experience! ”
“ This restaurant is beautiful in one of the more charming parts of Cheshire. We went in the early evening, so it wasn't super busy. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I had the chicken schnitzel and it was fantastic! The dessert was also great. I can't wait to go back! ”
“ I don't hand out 5 Stars, but this is one that definitely earned it! Family took me there for my birthday since my heritage is German, thought I'd like a nice European dinner. The food was absolutely amazing! I ordered the chicken Jagër schnitzel, wife ordered Veal Jagër schnitzel, kids ordered grilled salmon dinner, and roasted duck breast. The food was very well presented, generous portions, absolutely delicious and so full of flavor. Desert was to die for, homemade chocolate mousse made with Dutch chocolate and apple strudel. The waitstaff were professional and on top of everything. I so wanted to take pictures of our meals, but didn't think it would be appropriate in the middle of the room, trust me, it's worth the trip! ”
“ This is a two part story. Our first trip here was a negative ghost rider visit. We walked in to a restaurant around 5 at night to find it almost completely vacant. We were met after few minutes by a man asking what name the reservation was under to which we replied we didn't have one. We were told that he was afraid he would have to then tell us he didn't have a table for us. Now this left a horrible taste in our mouth for a couple of years now. We swore we would not go back. Upon finding out that my parents were going to take the kid for the day we said you know what why not. We made reservations for this evening. We arrived a few minutes late. But this was not a problem. We now understand that you need a reservation at this restaurant because they do NOT at all turn tables it's your table for the night sit long eat drink and be merry. We had the cheese spatzel which was excellent it unseated our previous number 1. The beets and Gorgonzola appetizer only had magic if you ate the pieces together any one part without the other was lacking. Me wife had the wiener schnitzel and myself the duck leg both excellent. The desserts were the Sacher Schnitte with Raspberry Sauce and Black Forest Cherry Roulade both to die for. The service was a pair of gentlemen tending to the whole dining room and doing a marvelous job this is a very well run establishment. The moral of the story is make a reservation and you won't be disappointed. I am pleased to add this review as on a personal note it marks my 100th yelp review. ”
“ I grew up with this food and honestly this is my go to place for German/Austrian food. The food itself is amazing. This place has a few drawbacks but it won't change my rating! Firstly, make a reservation! Every time that I haven't, I've been turned away. Having a reservation is par for the course here. Secondly, be prepared to spend some time here. I like sitting back and having a beer and relaxing. This isn't a place where you are going to be in and out in under an hour. Plan accordingly! The chef is originally from Austria. He's a gentleman! He often times comes out to talk to the customers! He's even humored my poor German several times! The staff is equally as nice! The food is the food. His Schnitzel is outstanding. The red cabbage is to die for. Don't skip dessert either. The apple strudel is amazing. Plans some time and enjoy a great meal! ”
“ Staff very polite, I did notice the Stammtisch table for regulars. Reminds me of Germany. Brat wurst is exceptional. Must visit and immerse yourself in the ambiance and food. Must visit ”
“ I've eaten here since I was in high school, but only now starting to Yelp religiously. I went again tonight with my parents. I'm surprised no one has reviewed this restaurant. I think the fact that it has no reviews is a reflection of the typical customers--older, small town people, who probably rarely Yelp or even know what Yelp is. The food however, is not small town food; in fact, if it were in NYC, it would certainly be a huge hit. But a huge hit isn't what Chef Markus is about. He is serving refined Austrian country cooking. He doesn't want a boisterous atmosphere to deliver that effect. Instead, a beautiful interior with wood paneling and wooden furniture, soft lighting, and rose colored tablecloths help set the mood. The restaurant itself is hidden from the street--in the back, where honestly, only someone who was looking for it would find it. Onto the food. I always get a bowl of his soup, no matter what it is. Today it was potato and fennel. Bursting with flavor and as always, A LOT of the star ingredients. This isn't some broth-y thing that has the flavor of the ingredients. It was packed with potato and fennel. The bowls of soup are also TRUE BOWLS. I mean, BIG BOWLS. If you love soup, you'll love Chef Markus' soups. My parents got the pork chop with roasted red peppers and a veal special with wild mushroom and shallot sauce. They both wiped their plates clean--a rarity. I also ordered a special (a change for me since typically the regular menu items are so delicious)--goulash. It had a velvety texture, was seasoned perfectly (not salty at all), meat was tender. He also included roasted red peppers, which were very sweet and cut through the goulash extremely well. IMPRESSED. Artful arrangement and mind numbingly tasty food. What is best about the Watch Factory Restaurant is that Chef Markus manages to transport me back to the Austrian Alps (hiking up a trail to watch the sunrise--ahh what a life). Isn't that the point of good ethnic cuisine? The only thing that kept bringing me back was the free water. Europe with free water--now THAT would be a winning combination. ”
